Who are we?

McFadden Resource Center is the brainchild of Cathy, who has worked as an Educator for over 20 years.  She believes in tackling the educational beast through innovative and sometimes out of the box ideas.  Over the years she has had help from animals, findings from the beach, and unique projects such as paper mache volcanoes to foster a love of learning and to engage the mind.

Cathy passed this way of thinking on to her oldest son James, who as a teacher himself, has decided to expand the Learning center and take it even further.  Since joining his mom in the fight to educate,  James has developed an English as a Second Language program for college students and adults.  He has had tremendous success integrating people who have recently arrived in the United States, test preparation for the Citizenship Exam, and College preparation.

James then met his now wife Marie and of course drug her into the mix.  Marie has a background in Public Health and loves to "get creative" about how to make people healthier overall.  Her knowledge and skills are being put to good use with MRC (this blog!) by keeping everything organized and implementing new programs.

Cathy and James (Marie too) have developed a passion for education and helping those that really need it.  Through several meetings of the mind, this brain-trust has numerous ideas and projects to unleash on the education community.  Their only limitation is their time and their money, but non of that has stopped them yet!

MRC is a 5O1c3 non profit and operates solely on the donations of others.
